Social Worker - Mental Health

About the Opportunity 

We're seeking a dedicated Social Worker to provide professional mental health support within our community services. This fixed-term full time with a view to permanency position offers the chance to provide meaningful support to individuals and families navigating complex emotional experiences. You'll work with people managing grief and loss, intense emotions, questions of identity, and relationship strain, while helping restore their sense of safety and belonging. 

What You'll Be Doing 

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop responsive support plans 

• Support people experiencing trauma, grief, and community-related stress 

• Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers 

• Contribute to community forums and educational programs 

• Help reduce stigma around seeking mental health support 

What We're Looking For 

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Social Work 

• Current registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers 

• Experience in trauma-informed practice and community mental health 

• Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, Jewish community experiences 

• Strong skills in crisis intervention and family therapy approaches 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Cultural sensitivity and awareness 

• Commitment to social justice and human rights principles
