About the Role
As a Community Aged Care Domestic Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred domestic support services to older people, people living with disability, and their carers within their own homes.
Working closely with clients and the Community Aged Care team, you'll deliver services that promote independence, wellbeing, safety, and dignity while building trusted relationships with those you support.

What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing general household cleaning including vacuuming, mopping, dusting and bathroom/kitchen cleaning.
- Laundry, ironing and changing bed linen.
- Shopping and assisting with essential household tasks.
- Cleaning refrigerators and maintaining a safe, hygienic home environment.
- Preparing and cooking simple nutritious meals (where appropriately qualified).
- Supporting clients to maintain or build their independence by encouraging participation in everyday household activities.
- Delivering services in accordance with individual care plans and organisational policies.
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in a client's health, wellbeing or home environment.
- Responding appropriately in emergency situations to ensure client safety.
- Building respectful, compassionate relationships with clients, families and colleagues.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:

- Well organised with excellent time management skills.
- Comfortable working independently in clients' homes.
- A strong communicator with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people.
- Passionate about supporting older people to remain independent in their own homes.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 years' experience in a similar domestic assistance or community support role and experience supporting older people, people living with dementia, people with disability and their carers.
- Ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to respond appropriately during emergency situations.
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia.
- Commitment to providing safe, professional and person-centred services.
- Commitment to safeguarding clients and promoting environments free from abuse, neglect, violence and preventable injury.
- Current Food Handling Certificate (desirable)
