We have an exciting opportunity for a Continence Nurse Consultant to join our team located in Gisborne at 3 days per week (Wednesday - Friday), 30 minutes from the CBD with free parking on site. 

 

A typical day will have you:

  • Provide a specialist nursing service for clients with urinary or bowel incontinence who require support and treatment through the continuum of care.
  • Maintain documentation; complete client assessments in accordance with policies, procedures and to meet accreditation standards
  • Provide the client, family and/or carer with appropriate information and other supportive interventions to increase their knowledge, skill and confidence in managing their continence condition
  • Provide colleagues with clear direction and guidance and actively promote positive working relationships

 

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Minimum qualification requirement Registered Nurse (Division 1), with current AHPRA registration
  • Post graduate qualification in Continence is essential e.g. Graduate certificate in Nursing (urological and continence) or endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner, applying advanced clinical nursing practice in continence
  • Statewide Equipment Program (SWEP) credentialing (red) for prescribing of continence products (personal and household washable items, catheter care and accessories and specialised items)
  • A collaborative approach to working with clients, staff, colleagues and other key stakeholders
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to the role, including Accreditation    
  • Experience in managing complex client scenarios
  • Experience in specialised continence advisory services
