The Role

We're looking for a Payroll Officer for a 12-month contract to join our Finance Department, based in the Support Office in Hawthorn East. Some of your responsibilities will include: 

  • Assist in preparing fortnightly payrolls for multiple sites and locations across Victoria
  • Updating and maintaining payroll records, including (but not limited to) processing variations, new starters, leave, timesheets
  • Calculation and processing of termination payments and correction pay
  • Calculation of any under or over payments, reconciliations and other complex calculations
  • Payroll Service Desk – effective liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries logged in the service desk and process adjustments

About you

  • Experienced in payroll processing in an aged care company
  • Strong understanding of taxation, superannuation legislation, and LSL calculations
  • Systems confident for use of HRIS, electronic timekeeping systems and related databases 
  • High level of attention to detail and strengths in accuracy
  • Ability to interpret and apply conditions of employment (Awards, Enterprise Agreements, Contacts of Employment)
  • Excellent customer service skills, and ability to provide timely actions and responses
