Lead change with compassion

Join our team of 2,000+ people making a positive difference to over 15,000 older Victorians through aged care services. As a respected not-for-profit organisation, we’re transforming the experience of ageing through collaboration, new ideas and investment in people and services.

Our Team

Our Support Office team works in a friendly and dynamic environment. We proudly deliver services across finance, IT, quality and risk, marketing and customer experience, and people, culture and diversity.

From collaborating with approachable leaders to supporting our frontline teams, our people play an important role in helping Benetas deliver high-quality care. There are plenty of opportunities to learn, contribute and grow. You’ll be encouraged to bring forward ideas, solve problems and build genuine connections, while being recognised for your contribution.

The Role

We are looking for a capable and service-focused Human Resources Officer who is ready for a broad and practical role.

Working as part of our People, Culture and Diversity team, you will be one of the first points of contact for managers and employees seeking HR support. You’ll provide timely advice and administration, maintain accurate employee information and help deliver a responsive and reliable HR service across Benetas.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across the employee lifecycle and work alongside experienced HR Business Partners who can support your development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing HR helpdesk enquiries and providing accurate guidance on policies, processes and employment matters within your level of responsibility.
  • Preparing employment contracts and variations and maintaining accurate employee records in our HR information system.
  • Supporting onboarding, offboarding, compliance and employee credentialing activities.
  • Producing HR reports and information for team members and organisational stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and the experience of employees and managers.

This is a full-time, onsite role based at our Support Office in Hawthorn East. The base salary is $75,000 per annum plus superannuation, with access to not-for-profit salary packaging.

All persons at Benetas need to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance to be eligible for employment or engagement.

About you

You may already be working as an HR Officer, HR Coordinator or HR Administrator and be looking for a role that will give you greater breadth, responsibility and room to grow.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A qualification in human resources, business administration or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience providing HR or business administration support in a busy, service-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a positive, practical approach to customer service.
  • The judgement to resolve routine matters, identify risks and escalate more complex issues appropriately.
  • Confidence using HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • An organised and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in developing your HR capability and contributing to a collaborative team.

Experience in aged care, healthcare or another regulated environment would be helpful but is not essential.

Why Benetas?

  • Build your HR career – gain practical experience across employee administration, HR systems, compliance, reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Learn from experienced practitioners – work closely with a team of HR Officers, HR Business Partners and specialists across People, Culture and Diversity.
