About the opportunity

The Coordinator Community Capability leads a team to develop, implement and evaluate community programs that build preparedness for floods, storms and tsunamis across multiple regional NSW SES Zones. Building community resilience for these hazards saves lives, reduces injury and minimises property damage. The position represents the Community Capability team and works with stakeholders on key state-based initiatives that build the resilience and capability of communities.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience in championing community-led, agency supported programs grounded in relationships, trust, transparency, capability-building and shared responsibility.
  • Effectively coach, manage and develop a diverse team with the ability to define roles, responsibilities and performance standards to deliver outcomes
  • Communicate effectively such as communicating clearly, actively listening to others and responding with understanding and respect 
  • Deliver projects with integrity, representing the organisation in an honest, ethical and professional way.
  • Be able to build and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Work with Zone leadership teams and key stakeholders to define community engagement priorities
