Location: Adelaide SA Depot

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Logistics Service Manager to lead and support a high-performing team. This pivotal leadership role oversees daily logistics operations, drives process improvements, and ensures optimal service delivery across all transport activities. If you're a confident leader with a background in the transport and logistics sector, we invite you to bring your expertise to our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for transport coordination, customer service, and operational support.
• Oversee and continuously improve the planning, scheduling, and execution of freight movements to ensure on-time delivery and service excellence.
• Foster strong customer relationships by managing escalations, ensuring timely issue resolution, and upholding service standards aligned with company procedures.
• Monitor operational KPIs, ensure compliance with safety, quality, and service requirements, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with transport providers, internal departments, and yard operations to ensure seamless coordination and communication of inbound and outbound logistics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamline workflows, and identify opportunities for process and cost optimisation.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of documentation, including quotations, invoicing, POD requests, and NCR investigations.
• Provide accurate reporting and insights to senior leadership on operational performance, customer satisfaction, and team development.
• Regular travel will be expected

Skills and Experience: 

• Proven leadership experience in a transport and logistics environment, with the ability to manage team performance and operational workflows.
• Strong knowledge of transport systems (TMS), freight coordination, and metro area logistics.
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Pronto), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, sound judgment, and attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality standards.
• Ability to drive operational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
