Workshop / Trades Staff - Hiring Now

Centurion is looking for multiple workshop / tradespeople to work in our various depots across Australia supporting freight operations across our Network.

What You'll be Doing 

Diesel Mechanics

• Conduct diagnostics and fault finding on heavy vehicles.
• Service and maintain trucks, trailers, dollies, and motor vehicles.
• Repair or replace brakes, suspension, steering, and engine components.
• Perform welding and grinding on chassis or comb rails of flat-top trailers.
• Carry out auto-electrical work on 12V and 24V systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Order and replace parts in line with manufacturer specifications.

Tyre Fitters

• Fit, repair, rotate, and replace tyres on trucks, trailers, and light vehicles
• Carry out tyre inspections to identify wear, damage, and safety concerns
• Report tyre defects and safety issues promptly
• Assist mechanics with general workshop maintenance and repairs when required
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safety-compliant workshop environment
• Work as part of a fast-paced transport maintenance team

Trailer Mechanics

• 7/7 rotating roster – 7 day shifts, 7 days off, 7 night shifts, 7 days off.
• Perform servicing, inspections, and repairs on a range of trailers and transport equipment.
• Service and maintain braking, suspension, axle, and air systems.
• Carry out trailer wiring and lighting repairs.
• Replace and maintain parts in line with safety and maintenance standards.
• Ensure trailers are roadworthy and operational to minimise fleet downtime.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in your trade working on heavy vehicles.
• Australian-recognised Trade Qualification.
• Experience servicing Mack and Kenworth trucks preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Unrestricted Australian work rights.
