We’re currently expanding our team and looking for a hands-on National Operations Response Manager who will be responsible for leading Centurion's 24/7 Command Centre (Nexus Centre), delivering centralised operational monitoring, driver wellbeing oversight, asset intelligence, incident response, operational control and business intelligence across the national network.

About the Role
The role will drive the evolution of the Nexus Centre into a leading Mission Control capability by connecting people, processes and technology through telematics, fatigue management, IVMS, TMS and operational systems. The National Operations Response Manager will ensure the Command Centre delivers measurable outcomes in driver wellbeing, operational efficiency and performance while supporting Centurion's vision of one hub, total visibility and maximum efficiency.
What You’ll Be Doing
- HSEQ: Encourage a "Think Safe Act Safe" mentality throughout the network to ensure that safety measurements, accidents, investigations, and remedial measures are handled quickly and effectively. Foster inclusive and courteous behaviours throughout the workplace to ensure mutual respect, open communication, and psychological safety in line with the RIPPA principle of respect.
- People and Culture: Lead, develop and coach a high-performing operations team across multiple sites or shifts; foster engagement, talent development and succession planning. Build capability in event triage, fatigue management, operational support, and incident response. Manage the daily operations of the Command Centre and ensure effective allocation of resources across a 24/7 operating environment.
- Operational Leadership: Oversee fleet operations, including fatigue events, breakdowns, asset health, refrigeration monitoring, and operational exceptions. Drive control tower processes, performance monitoring, continuous improvement, and consistent incident response through data-led insights and operational playbooks.
- Asset Health: Support the implementation and optimisation of MTData, IVMS, TMS, and related technologies. Ensure that all operating systems have accurate reporting and data integrity. Proactively identify new threats and possibilities, using telematics insights and predictive analytics to assist data-driven operational decisions, monitor dashboards and performance metrics.
- Operational Efficiency: Find and implement efficiency improvements through increased compliance, decreased downtime, and fleet utilisation. Encourage the realisation of the benefits of the telematics transition in terms of labour productivity, fuel consumption, maintenance, and operational efficiency to senior stakeholders with useful business intelligence. Oversee, cultivate, and mentor a productive Command Centre team.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years in transport, logistics, fleet operations, network control or command centre leadership roles.
- Experience managing 24/7 operations environments.
- Proven experience leading operational teams and driving performance improvement.
- Demonstrated success using data and technology to improve safety, efficiency and commercial outcomes.
- Experience managing operational incidents, fatigue monitoring, asset intelligence and business-critical escalations.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across operations, maintenance, safety, compliance and executive leadership.
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Transport, Business, Operations Management, Safety or related discipline, or equivalent operational experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a logistics, transport, operations control centre or command centre environment.
- Chain of Responsibility knowledge.
- Fatigue Management Knowledge.
- HSEQ qualifications.
- Lean, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement training.
- Experience with telematics, MTData, IVMS, TMS or fleet technology platforms.
