About the Opportunity
This is a hands-on operational role where you’ll sit at the centre of the customer and transport operation.
You’ll monitor freight movements, coordinate customer requirements, identify potential issues and work closely with internal transport teams to ensure freight keeps moving and service expectations are met.
The role will suit someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, is highly organised and takes ownership of issues through to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor end-to-end metro, interstate and mine site freight movements.
- Track pickups, deliveries, transfers and return freight against customer schedules.
- Identify delayed or at-risk movements and coordinate corrective action.
- Act as a key operational contact between customers and internal transport teams.
- Provide proactive updates on freight movements, delays and delivery issues.
- Manage customer queries, complaints and service issues through to resolution.
- Monitor manifesting and scanning compliance and investigate discrepancies.
- Track missed pickups, missing scans, delayed deliveries and other exceptions.
- Manage NCRs and coordinate the information required for resolution.
- Monitor operational KPIs including DIFOT, pickup/delivery performance and scanning compliance.
- Provide daily and weekly operational performance reporting.
- Support forward planning by monitoring forecast volumes and upcoming requirements.
- Work closely with Operations and customer sites to identify improvement opportunities.
- Track corrective and continuous improvement actions through to completion.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- 3+ years’ relevant logistics experience with a proven track record.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A structured approach to problem solving and issue resolution.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Confidence working with operational data, KPIs and reporting.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify risks before they impact customers.
- A commitment to safety and compliance.
A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Logistics or a related discipline is desirable, however extensive relevant industry experience will also be considered.
