About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Contract & Rates Business Analyst to join our team in Melbourne.

The Contract and Rates Business Analyst supports the management and continuous improvement of Centurion’s contract, pricing and rate systems through strong analytical, technical and business analysis capability.

The role works across Commercial, Finance, Operations and IT to analyse data, improve rate structures, support system configuration and ensure pricing information is accurate and commercially effective.

A key focus of the role is supporting the implementation and ongoing development of the National Rate Card, including zoning, service coverage, rate architecture and system configuration.  The role also uses customer, operational and pricing data to identify yield improvement, revenue leakage and process improvement opportunities.

The position is suited to an experienced analyst with strong technical aptitude, attention to detail and the ability to understand complex systems, data and business processes.

Salary:  $105,000 per annum + 12% superannuation

What You’ll Be Doing

Contract, Rates and Commercial Analysis

  • Maintain and analyse customer rate cards, contract pricing and associated commercial data.
  • Support rise and fall, fuel levy and General Rate Increase processes.
  • Perform pricing, contract and profitability analysis.
  • Identify rate discrepancies, revenue leakage and yield improvement opportunities.
  • Provide reporting and insights to support commercial decision-making.

National Rate Card and Systems

  • Support implementation and maintenance of the National Rate Card.
  • Analyse and maintain zoning, postcode mapping, service coverage and rate structures.
  • Translate business requirements into system rules, configuration requirements and test scenarios.
  • Test rate configuration and system calculations to ensure accurate pricing and invoicing.
  • Investigate system, pricing and data issues and assist with root-cause resolution.

Business Analysis and Improvement   

  • Gather and document business requirements, processes and system rules.
  • Analyse data, workflows and systems to identify improvement and automation opportunities.
  • Support system enhancements, user testing and implementation activities.
  • Maintain clear documentation of rate structures, business rules and processes.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Finance, Operations, Business Support and IT stakeholders.

About You

You’ll be an organised and reliable administrator who can work confidently in a busy operational environment.

We’re looking for

  • 3+ years’ experience in business analysis, pricing, contracts, rates, data analytics, information systems or a related role.
  • Experience supporting systems, data analysis, pricing structures or process improvement in a commercial environment would be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with an aptitude for systems and technology.
  • Ability to work with complex data, rate structures and business rules.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Understanding of business analysis concepts including requirements gathering, process mapping, testing and implementation.
  • Ability to understand system logic, investigate issues and translate business needs into practical solutions.
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical capability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical (IT/DA) and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exposure to data analytics, business intelligence, SQL, scripting or automation tools is required.
  • Knowledge of logistics, transportation, or related industries (desirable but not essential).
  • Qualification in Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics (DA), Business Information Systems, Business, Commerce, Finance, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
