$120,000 - $170,000

About this Position

We provide innovative support for emerging aerospace technology through research, scholarship, and service.

The following may be required of this position to accomplish OAIRE’s objectives:
  • Overseeing design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
  • Performing multiple and routine engineering-related tasks within the organization.
  • Overseeing the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and reports.
  • Developing technical reports, drawings, and other engineering documentation
  • Preparing statements of work, gantt charts, and progress reports for projects.
  • Attending weekly project meetings.
  • Resolving highly complex technical issues and conducting advanced research.
  • Participating in various test activities to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Working in a collaborative team environment with the opportunity for frequent interaction with team members and mentors.
  • Developing analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Investigating emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Preparing technical presentations and briefing them to customers, partners, and technical leadership teams.
  • Working on projects/matters generally independent and collaborative in nature.
  • Providing technical support to clients and assists with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Has broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems.
  • Recommending alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
  • Providing expert judgment and analysis for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.

Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for the following supervisory responsibilities:
  • Overseeing assigned supervisors/engineers.
  • Providing day to day oversight of assigned supervisors/ engineers to include management, development, and motivation of employees
  • Assisting with timekeeping and bandwidth coordination with appropriate groups
  • Managing staffing levels, performance evaluations, performance development and career counseling
  • Managing assigned engineering activities including focusing on time and effort allocations
  • Coordinate facility-level needs of the team.

May travel for technology testing, presentation, or outreach events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's

    Engineering, Science, or related technical field

    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Fifteen years of related work experience in engineering, aerospace management, or military leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's

    Engineering, Science, or related technical field

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    Knowledge of unmanned aerial systems
