About this Position

The Senior HR Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor to leadership and management, aligning human resources initiatives with business objectives. This role is responsible for leading organizational change efforts, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, and performance development. The Sr. HRBP acts as a consultant to department leaders on all HR-related matters and partners with Centers of Excellence (COEs) in Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and DEI.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives.

  • Provide guidance on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design.

  • Manage complex employee relations issues and conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to ensure successful recruitment strategies for key roles.

  • Support managers in performance management, including coaching, feedback, and development planning.

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and promote a positive workplace culture.

  • Interpret and apply HR policies and practices, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

  • Use data and analytics to inform decisions and measure effectiveness of HR initiatives.

  • Partner with Compensation and Benefits to support salary planning, job evaluations, and internal equity reviews.

  • Support change management initiatives, including communications and training.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's
    • In Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field 
    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
    • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a business partner or senior-level HR role.

    • Demonstrated experience supporting senior leadership in a strategic capacity.

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

    • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and influence at all levels of the organization.

    • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's
    • In Human Resource Management or related field of study
    • Experience in higher education, healthcare, or similarly complex, matrixed environments.

    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
    • HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
