About this Position

The Deputy Director will oversee a service-oriented department designed to assist the OSU/A&M System constituents in achieving their goals and objectives through the effective use of technology. This position oversees the operations of the System Administration group for the Stillwater and Tulsa campuses as well as services extended to seven other campuses within the OSU/A&M System. The Deputy Director collaborates with the Department’s Director, ITs Leadership team, the A&M CIO, managers and technical staff in the operational and academic areas on joint projects and shared services. Drives operational effectiveness and efficiency. Focuses on growing and transforming the business. Collaboration efforts include but are not limited to project planning, service delivery, product evaluation, defining expense cost shares, security reviews, and policy.

Requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, using clear communication, tact, discretion, and independent judgement.

This is an onsite position.

Position requires the incumbent to own a computer and have internet access with the ability to work remotely, should a departmental need arise. 

Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication device. The incumbent’s salary includes additional compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Five years of Information Technology or related experience, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility including direct personnel management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's

    IT or related field

  • Preference for Higher Education experience and knowledge of current OSU information technology systems.

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    Certification in Project Management and ITIL Foundations.
