About this Position
This position is responsible for providing oversight and management for the back offices of a large Family Medicine clinic with 4 locations. This position will work with the practice administrator, physicians and support staff to ensure an effective and efficient department and serves as the point of contact for communication among the patient population and healthcare providers on nursing issues.
The Nurse Supervisor responsibilities are:
- Supervises daily work effort of nursing staff
- Monitors procedure scheduling/set up
- Evaluates completion of patient referrals
- Enters data into various logs such as Oklahoma State Immunization Information System, indigent medicine program, etc.
- Monitors nursing duties to facilitate patient evaluation/notification (i.e. triage system)
- Ensures adequate staffing, prioritizes workloads and reassigns staff as needed
- Responsible for ordering all clinic supplies and inventory
- Interviews/effectively onboards new staff; completes evaluations, disciplinary actions when necessary
- Coordinates staff requests for time off; monitors time/attendance reporting
- Monitors Family Medicine clinics for OSHA, VFC, AOA, and HIPAA compliance
- Effectively coaches staff to improve performance
- Models excellent nursing skills for direct reports
- Assists clinic administration with establishing clinical policies and procedures for patient care
- Management of Clinical education and competencies, quality improvement, staff meetings and communication as needed
- Collaborates with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
Required Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical - Nursing
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Minimum of one (1) year direct supervisory/managerial experience.
- Two (2) years of direct patient care nursing experience required.
- Two (2) years of Triage experience.
- Two (2) years of Medication administration.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
- Licensed Practice Nurse License required.
- Current licensure in the state of Oklahoma
- Valid Driver's License required
- Valid CPR License 
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Computer/typing skills and proficiency in Electronic Medical Records software, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and other programs. Programming/template building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) preferred
- Experience working/managing a back office clinical setting
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
- Experience managing others (Licensed Practice Nurses and Medical Assistants) to deliver quality medical care
- Experience in acute or ambulatory setting
