About this Position
Open Rank Professor of Computer Science
The Oklahoma State University (OSU) Department of Computer Science is seeking applications for an open-rank tenure-track position with a start date of August 2027. Preferred research and teaching interests are in cybersecurity with an emphasis on digital forensics and cyber investigations, reverse engineering and malware analysis, and cybersecurity operations and incident management, or related areas with a solid track record in the core Computer Science domains.
Responsibilities:
Our department’s mission is to pursue and to publicize research projects in computer science in order to extend the present state of knowledge in the computer field, educate students in all program levels in order to provide them with the knowledge, interest, and ethics to become productive members of the computing profession, and serve as an initial and continuing source of education in the field of computer science.
The successful candidate will demonstrate their alignment with this mission through a clear research record along with the potential for teaching, support of program growth, and commitment to excellence in service and extension. Faculty are expected to pursue research collaborations with other faculty, industry, and research institutions as well as to further the university’s land grant mission through excellence in teaching and outreach activities. All faculty members are also expected to support the department's efforts in developing and teaching courses for our online certificate and degree programs and may be assigned to either the Tulsa or Stillwater campus. Junior faculty members are expected to be heavily research focused and during their first three years are only required to teach one course per semester.
About the Department of Computer Science
The OSU Department of Computer Science (https://cs.okstate.edu) is strongly committed to excellence in research, teaching, and outreach. The Department offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, a B.S. degree in Applied Computer Programming, and two new interdisciplinary M.S. programs in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The Department also offers online courses to students at remote sites. Our recent student enrollment is approximately 420 undergraduate and 100 graduate students across all our majors with expected continued growth over the coming years.

Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related discipline (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date).
- Demonstrated research background as evidenced by conference and journal publications in high-quality venues commensurate with rank.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues.
- Evidence of university-level teaching success commensurate with rank.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of successful grantsmanship.
- Evidence of the ability to create and/or manage a successful research or teaching program.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in program accreditation, which may include ABET or NSA NCAE.
