The Specialist maintains thorough documentation of all deliveries, including location information and photographic confirmation. This role maintains equipment readiness by rebuilding and refurbishing computers, focusing on preparing backup units and loaners for departmental needs and events. The Specialist provides some first-level technical support to faculty and staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues while escalating complex problems to senior technicians when necessary. Additional responsibilities include providing basic technical support for printers, software, and computer configurations within account permission levels, as well as assisting with lab updates and network connectivity audits. A core function of this position is surplus management, requiring documentation of serial numbers and unique identifiers before processing equipment for retirement. The Specialist evaluates assets for potential reuse, recommending serviceable equipment for introduction while ensuring damaged items are properly processed for parts salvaging or disposal. This work involves managing surplus operations of various scales, from routine small collections to large departmental projects exceeding 250 items, maintaining accurate inventory records throughout the process. |

IT Research Computing System Specialist (Fall)

| OU IT is currently hiring the position of IT Research Computing System Specialist. This position provides research computing system administration and/or other system-facing tasks. Students in this role will troubleshoot minor issues, assist in deploying and maintaining research computing systems and components, provide technical support, and communicate with various IT teams to resolve more technically advanced customer incidents and system maintenance issues.
Most shifts will take place between 8am-5pm CST, Monday through Friday. Some weekend shifts may be required. For this position, required training will occur on the job as part of this position’s duties, potentially including job shadowing. Regular attendance at research computing team meetings will be required, in person and/or via videoconferencing. Due to the amount of time and effort that must be devoted to on-boarding new employees, this position is not recommended for applicants who intend to work in the role for less than two academic semesters. |

| OU Facilities is seeking a skilled and motivated Street Light Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of streetlight systems across the University of Oklahoma campus. Through OU’s PEAK Temporary Staffing program, this role offers hands‑on electrical work, daily problem‑solving, and the chance to contribute to the safety and reliability of campus infrastructure.
Working under direct supervision, you will assist with installing and inspecting streetlights, troubleshooting circuits, repairing wiring, and assembling conduit, fittings, and junction boxes. The position also supports streetlight pole setting, circuit testing, and routine maintenance tasks. You’ll use a variety of hand tools, power tools, ladders, and electrical equipment while participating in ongoing training to strengthen your technical skills.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Certification, along with 24 months of electrical experience. Preference is given to applicants with at least six months of streetlight‑specific work. A valid Oklahoma Driver’s License (or ability to obtain one within 30 days) and a current Oklahoma electrical journeyman’s license are required.
Success in this role requires strong knowledge of electrical materials, tools, and repair methods, as well as advanced understanding of electrical codes and safety practices. The ability to read schematics, blueprints, and drawings is essential, along with the ability to identify maintenance needs and communicate effectively with supervisors.
