Position Introduction:
We are seeking a student academic data and research assistant to join our athletic academic department. The ideal candidate is efficient, detail-oriented, and skilled in developing and maintaining workplace relationships and confidentiality.
Data and Research Assistant Skills
- Job Responsibilities:
- The following list of day-to-day job responsibilities may differ significantly depending on our department need.
- Provides support to ensure efficient office operations.
- Maintains physical and digital filing systems.
- Works with IT staff to ensure all computers in the computer labs are working properly
- Inputs and updates information in databases and spreadsheets.
- Prepares meeting agendas and takes meeting minutes.
- Uses word processing and presentation software to create and edit documents.
- Operates office equipment, including printers, scanners, and copy machine.
- Works closely with other academic staff and supports as needed.
- Works with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security and ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
- Ensures that deadlines are met and adapts to changing priorities.
- Presents a positive and professional image for the department.

Required Education and Experience:
- Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
- Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
Data and Research Assistant Skills:
- Digital literacy and research skills, including the ability to analyze the reliability of information
- Familiarity with Office 365 and Canvas
- Data management and entry skills, including the ability to maintain and improve filing systems
- Accurate record keeping
- Written communication skills
- Time management, multitasking, and flexibility
- Organizational skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Supply management and inventory control
- Ability to work well under pressure and navigate multiple deadlines
