Position Introduction:

We are seeking a student academic data and research assistant to join our athletic academic department. The ideal candidate is efficient, detail-oriented, and skilled in developing and maintaining workplace relationships and confidentiality.

Data and Research Assistant Skills

  • Job Responsibilities:
    • The following list of day-to-day job responsibilities may differ significantly depending on our department need.
    • Provides support to ensure efficient office operations.
    • Maintains physical and digital filing systems.
    • Works with IT staff to ensure all computers in the computer labs are working properly
    • Inputs and updates information in databases and spreadsheets.
    • Prepares meeting agendas and takes meeting minutes.
    • Uses word processing and presentation software to create and edit documents.
    • Operates office equipment, including printers, scanners, and copy machine.
    • Works closely with other academic staff and supports as needed.
    • Works with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security and ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
    • Ensures that deadlines are met and adapts to changing priorities.
    • Presents a positive and professional image for the department.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

Data and Research Assistant Skills:

  • Digital literacy and research skills, including the ability to analyze the reliability of information
  • Familiarity with Office 365 and Canvas
  • Data management and entry skills, including the ability to maintain and improve filing systems
  • Accurate record keeping
