The Stephenson Cancer Center is seeking a passionate and community centered Community Outreach Liaison to help advance our mission of decreasing the burden of cancer across Oklahoma. This role is ideal for someone who believes deeply in health equity, thrives in community partnerships, and is energized by creating meaningful impact beyond the walls of an academic medical center.
About the Role
The Community Outreach Liaison plays a vital role in connecting the Cancer Center with communities throughout Oklahoma. You will help coordinate and deliver outreach and engagement efforts that increase cancer awareness, promote screening, enhance education, and support prevention efforts.
This position blends relationship building, program coordination, and research collaboration to ensure that evidence based cancer interventions truly reach the communities that need them most.

What You'll Do
You'll help design, deliver, and evaluate high impact outreach initiatives across Oklahoma, including:
Outreach Coordination
- Initiate, coordinate, and evaluate cancer awareness, screening, and education initiatives.
- Lead or support community health screenings and awareness events.
- Prioritize outreach efforts that are linked to research activities at the Stephenson Cancer Center.
- Ensure outreach programs align with SCC's mission and research priorities.
Community Liaison & Partnership Building
- Establish and foster strong, positive relationships with mission aligned community organizations.
- Represent Stephenson Cancer Center at community events and forums.
- Integrate SCC research programs into community initiatives, and bring community priorities back to researchers.
- Collaborate with community organizations and healthcare systems on outreach programs and research projects.
- Coordinate with University and Cancer Center fundraising teams to support third party fundraising events hosted by community partners.
Program Implementation & Project Management
- Serve as project manager for the development, implementation, and evaluation of community based cancer awareness, screening, education, and advocacy programs.
- Coordinate efforts with cancer center teams including clinical operations, contracting, and research personnel.
- Support health care delivery system initiatives across Oklahoma.
- Prioritize programs with a strong research component and measurable outcomes.
Grant Development & Reporting
- Assist with identifying federal, state, and community grant opportunities (e.g., NIH, American Cancer Society).
- Support or lead preparation of grant proposals and required reports.
- Contribute to funding efforts focused on improving cancer prevention and care delivery in Oklahoma.
Research Program Liaison
- Collaborate with SCC Research Program leaders to identify opportunities focused on priority cancers and risk factors in Oklahoma.
- Help connect researchers with communities interested in participating in or benefiting from research initiatives.
As Needed
- Perform additional duties that support outreach, collaboration, and the overall mission of the Stephenson Cancer Center.
