Work Schedule:

  • Schedule will vary with regular museum operating hours.
  • Events, evening, holiday and weekend hours will be required.
  • The museum is open over all OU Holiday breaks and all employees are expected to be available during those time periods.

Position Introduction:

The Department of Visitor Services is seeking multiple customer service orientated, outgoing, and adaptive associates to fill part-time positions. The Student Associates in the Visitor Services department at the Sam Noble Museum include responsibilities at the Front Desk, in the Gift Store and with Special Events and Facility Rentals. We are looking for eager candidates to cross train in each of these areas to help support the museum staff in everyday operations as well as special events and facility rentals. These events can include but are not limited to lectures, banquets, receptions, weddings and birthday parties.

Job Duties:

  • Provide Excellent Customer Service to Guests, Clients, and Staff.
  • Perform all assigned duties in multiple areas including opening, closing, ticketing, cash handling, preparing daily deposits, and light cleaning.
  • Staying informed on museum activities and programs to share with our guests.
  • Process and share information regarding multi-tier museum memberships.
  • Assist guests with products in the Gift Store. Process sales.
  • Familiarize yourself with the products and vendors in the Store and share that product knowledge with our guests.
  • Assist with check-in and labeling new inventory, light cleaning, restocking, and maintaining the appearance of the Museum.
  • Greeting and checking in clients, guests, and vendors during events.
  • Assist in planning, preparing for, and executing Special Events and Facility Rentals & Birthday Parties including creating paperwork, being a client liaison, assist at the loading dock, assist with set up of tables and chairs, and operate Audio/Visual Equipment for
  • Films, Lectures, and Live Presentations. (Training is provided, but an understanding of A/V equipment is a plus.)
  • Provide information about the museum, university, and community to guests.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must attach Fall 2026 class schedule and holiday availability.
  • All applicants must have fall and spring availability.
  • Any applicants who fail to include their class schedules will not be considered.
