Student Food Services Employee (Fall 2026) Norman
Prepares food (including meat, pork, poultry, fish, etc) following recipes and individual portion control. Utilizes kitchen utensils, appliances, and equipment in food preparation (ovens, knives, peelers, dicers, slicers, mixers, industrial dish machines, recycling, stoves, etc.). Serves food in a courteous and respectful manner, with proper portion control and knowledge of menu items. Load, carry, and transport hot or cold food items or containers to customers, serving lines, or dining tables - safely, efficiently and timely. Washes, sanitizes, and stores pots, pans and kitchen utensils in designated areas. Follows proper standards when cleaning/sanitizing the work area (floors, food carts, cabinets, tables, kitchen utensils and equipment, dishes, counters, and tableware, etc.). Assists other food services staff voluntarily as much as possible. May operate a cash register and will adhere to proper payment-handling processes. Cashiering and product handling and food serving are essential functions of the position. Scan, handle, and bag all merchandise, which could include a wide variety of food-related goods (such as dairy, deli, meat and bakery), beverages (such as soft drinks and bottled beverages), entertainment, and pharmaceutical products. Must be able to cross train in areas of service in the restaurant. The functions described here are not all-encompassing of those an employee may encounter while on the job. Student Library Assistant (Summer) Norman
The Ruby Grant Fine Arts Library serves as the neighborhood library for the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts and houses the Media Resource Center special collection. Student Library Assistants (SLAs) at this library will serve as the first point of contact patrons have with the library.
Student Water Safety Instructor (Summer) Norman
Teach swim lessons for children and adults. Enforce all policies and regulations and participate in regular in-service training. Preferred candidates have the availability to begin work in August 2026.
*Food Services Supervisor - Starbucks Norman
This position is responsible for supervising, training and evaluating assigned personnel. They will determine work priorities, plan schedules, assign and review work.Prepares food following recipes and applying individual portion control standards. Properly and safely measures, weighs and combines ingredients for quantity preparation of simple menu items. Utilizes various kitchen utensils, appliances, and heavy/industrial equipment in food preparation (ovens, knives, peelers, dicers, slicers, mixers, industrial dish machines, recycling, stoves, etc.). Serves food in a courteous and respectful manner, with proper portion control and knowledge of menu items. Load, carry, and transport hot or cold food items or containers to customers, serving lines, or dining tables-safely, efficiently and timely. Loads and transports food carts to and from designated floor units. Washes, sanitizes, and stores pots, pans and kitchen utensils in designated areas. Scrapes dishes and cleans tables, serving areas. Cleans counters and floors. Follows proper kitchen standards when cleaning/sanitizing the work area (floors, food carts, cabinets, tables, kitchen utensils and equipment, dishes, and tableware, etc.). Assists with special events across the University and across campuses that may include Presidential luncheons and dinners, catering needs, student organizational special requests, and day-to-day events. Assists other food services staff when necessary and voluntarily as much as possible. The functions described here are not all-encompassing of those an employee may encounter while on the job. ***Normally, employees on a 5-hour shift receive a free meal. Uniforms are provided at no cost but must be maintained by the employee.***
Housing Occupancy Operations Manager Norman
The Occupancy Operations Manager at the University of Oklahoma supervises the housing occupancy team and is responsible for the day-to-day and long-term coordination of occupancy management for a 7,000-bed housing operation, including room assignments, student billing, and workflow design. Operating within the collaborative and supportive Housing Administration leadership structure, this supervisory role ensures that housing assignment processes are accurate and responsive to student needs by managing complex protocols and timelines and serves as a key decision-maker and problem-solver. The role requires strong judgment, systems thinking, and the ability to manage intricate processes in evolving environments. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Occupancy and Assignment Management, Supervision and Team Leadership, Process Planning and Collaboration Supervise assignment and space management processes, including room changes, move-in, move-outs and temporary relocations during all phases of the year based on department priorities, policies and student needs. Direct the resolution of no-show, not enrolled, early arrival, late departure and special population cases. Hire, train, supervise and continuously develop 2-3 full-time Occupancy Operations Coordinators, providing day-to-day direction and ensuring high-quality results. Audit occupancy and billing data to ensure it is accurate and proactively identify and correct potential issues. Develop materials and strategies to improve occupancy-related policies, workflows and practices to improve residential student outcomes and team efficiency. Contribute subject matter expertise to departmental-level planning and decision making as needed. Coordinate with campus partners, such as Residence Life, Housing Operations, Sooner Card, Graduation and Persistence Support, International Student Services, and others, aligning operations where possible to enhance the residential student experience.
