Work that matters 

You will contribute to research addressing some of today's most important public health challenges, including healthy ageing, chronic disease prevention, and cognitive health. Your work will involve analysing large-scale genomic and population health data to advance scientific understanding and inform strategies that support healthier lives and better health outcomes. Supported by NHMRC Investigator Grant funding, this role offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to research with real-world impact while working at the forefront of epidemiology and precision health.

The team 

This position sits within the Nutritional and Genetic Epidemiology Group at ACPreH, reporting directly to Professor Elina Hypponen. You will join a multidisciplinary team of researchers, working with experts in epidemiology, biostatistics, genomics, and machine learning. Experience 

To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience: 

 Essential

• Postgraduate qualifications in epidemiology, statistics, genetics, statistical genomics or a related discipline.
• A developing track record of peer review publications, commensurate to opportunity
• Proven high-level problem-solving and organizational skills to manage competing demands and meet project timelines.
• Demonstrated analytical skills with experience on epidemiological and/or genetic association analyses.
• High-level written communication skills with the ability to present information effectively and clearly to a wide audience and a variety of stakeholders, especially writing for publication.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse and multi-disciplinary research team as well as work independently.

Desirable

• Experience of analyses of large-scale data including genetic information, e.g. Mendelian randomization analysis or statistical genomic analysis.
• Prior experience in undertaking systematic reviews.
