Work that matters 

As Senior Business Analyst, you will lead the analysis, design and improvement of pay accuracy and entitlement processes across Adelaide University. Working closely with payroll, workforce administration, technology and business stakeholders, you will translate remediation findings, audit outcomes and compliance requirements into practical improvements that strengthen processes, controls and system workflows. You will map current and future-state processes, identify root causes and opportunities for simplification, automation and standardisation, and develop sustainable operating models that support compliant, efficient and consistent service delivery.

The team 

Join a team delivering meaningful change for our people. The Pay Accuracy and Entitlements Program brings together experts across project management, governance, payroll, compliance, employee relations, change, and education to strengthen payroll practices, enhance compliance, and improve employee outcomes. The Senior Business Analyst is a key role in delivering process and system changes, including business requirements, testing, implementation and change readiness. Through strong stakeholder engagement, process analysis and problem-solving skills, the role will provide practical advice and develop clear documentation, controls and guidance that support informed decision-making, continuous improvement and consistent pay and entitlement practices.

Experience

To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience: 

  • Demonstrated experience undertaking senior business analysis and leading end-to-end process redesign and business transformation within large, complex organisations  
  • Strong capability in requirements elicitation, process modelling and operating model design 
  • Experience working within payroll, HR, workforce management, compliance or highly regulated operational environments 
  • Proven ability to identify root causes, assess operational risks and implement sustainable process and control improvements
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Management or similar methodologies 
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience using complex operational data to inform business improvements
  • Proven ability to provide advice and influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver effective change
