Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Coordinator of Post-Doctoral Training, the Post Graduate Fellow provides supervised outpatient evaluation, psychotherapy, crisis and emergency intervention, and psycho-social assessments for patients. This position continues training and receiving of supervision. Participates in preventative mental health programs as a consultant and leader of workshops. Participates in relevant, individualized training provided for interns. Crisis/liaison services, including regular intervention with emergency situations and highly acute patient situations.
Position starts mid-August and lasts one year, following the academic calendar.
Essential Functions
General range of clinical responsibilities
Evaluations, crisis interventions, brief psychotherapies of a wide range of clients (individuals, couples, families, group) presenting to clinic.
On-call responsibilities in regular rotation for a variety of urgencies and emergencies in 24-48 hr. stints including nights, weekends and holidays.
Special tasks as assigned by Director.
Provides psycho-social assessments with an awareness and sensitivity to background, culture, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.
Makes use of client's support system in treatment planning (family, friends, community).
Provides Community consultations and workshops.
Active involvement in all relevant parts of training programs.
Prepares timely written documentation of above activities as required.
Understands and contributes to implementation of departmental and institutional goals for achieving non-discrimination and creating multicultural environment.
Other Functions
Performs other duties as required.
May provide functional (secondary) supervision to pre-master's social work or pre-doctoral psychology interns if relevant.
Minimum Qualifications
Successful completion of pre-masters social work or pre-doctoral psychology internship at the Center for Counseling & Psychological Health (CCHP).

Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.
Work Schedule and Work Arrangement
M - F 8:30am - 5:00pm
On-call shifts; occasional evening or weekend hours required.
Salary Information
UMass Amherst expects to pay $50,069.10 for this position
