We are seeking a Project Manager - Rail to join the Owner's team to lead and manage the project development, execution planning and execution, while overseeing the EPCM Contractor to ensure delivery of the Project outcomes within HSEC, schedule, cost and quality.

This includes primary responsibility for definition, planning, early works, execution and closing activities necessary to successfully deliver the project using best practice project management principles. 

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for:

• Rail project scope comprises the development of new, or expanded, rail line and associated infrastructure as part of a major commodity export facility;
• Development and management of overall project execution, stakeholder engagement and governance processes throughout the project lifecycle, including preparation of appropriate project execution plan to most economically provide rail line infrastructure and material handling facilities for the export of metallurgical coal from Bowen Basin mines to a shipping terminal stockyard facility, taking into account all relevant constraints.
• Ensure alignment with all project stakeholders of the execution plan during its development.
• Overall responsibility for the delivery of the project within time, cost, quality, safety and environmental criteria.  Ensure quality assurance, safety, environmental and HR/IR programs are established by all parties and maintained.
• Provide direction to and monitor the performance of the EPCM Contractor's Team, to ensure the delivery of the project within time, cost, safety, scope, quality and environmental criteria.  Initiation of corrective action when required.
• Participation in the selection or appointment of Owner's project team staff necessary to perform the work.  Mentor and coach BHPB project team members, so as to achieve full potential.
• Based on the approved budget for the project, authorise commitments and expenditures within authority levels, and control costs within budget limits.
• Ensure effective liaison and coordination of project works with Site Managers and relevant departments.
• Provide representation at BHPB Project Hub and Site in project related communication or progress meetings, where project related requirements / discussions / negotiations will occur.
• Development, monitoring and control of project scope and deliverables including change control management.
• Identification, formulation and control of project cost budget
