Project Engineer

PURPOSE

This position will provide project engineering support for small capital projects associated with onshore gas gathering systems. This position will have project delivery accountability for compressor stations, water-related facilities and new developments and be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely and meet all functional, cost and schedule targets.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

•  Compressor Stations

Responsible for project management of new compressor stations and expansion of existing compressor stations from concept development through to commissioning and start-up. Manage external contractor support organization and internal construction resources through front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning and start-up.

•  Water Facilities

Responsible for project management of new water-related facilities as required, potentially including water sourcing facilities, water injection facilities, water recycling facilities, and wetlands mitigation projects. Scope includes concept development through to commissioning and start-up. Manage external contractor support organization and internal construction resources through front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning and start-up.

•  New Developments

Responsible for project management of new developments (including major expansions of gas gathering systems and related facilities). Scope includes concept development through to commissioning and start-up. Manage external contractor support organization and internal construction resources through front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning and start-up.

•  Contractor Management

FPU project development and execution resources will be sourced primarily through an external contractor organization. The Project Engineer will have primary responsibility for managing the external contractor and associated contract.

•  Leadership

Demonstrate pro-active leadership in project management and execution. Engage effectively with both office-based technical staff , field-based operations personnel and external contractors and suppliers. Continuously demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communications and teaming skills.

•  Safety

Accountable for modeling HSEC leadership in all aspects of the role. This includes actively ensuring HSEC concerns are properly addressed in all phases of project development and execution from design through to commissioning and start-up. In addition, it includes demonstration of HSEC leadership from a personal perspective (e.g., conducting regular site audits, active participation in HSE-related discussions/initiatives, etc.).

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

•  Bachelor degree in relevant Engineering or Science discipline required.

•  Minimum 15 years industry related experience

Experience and Technical Competencies:

•  Proven track record in small project delivery and contractor management, including excellent HSE performance and proven ability to meet functional, cost and schedule targets in high-activity environment

•  Substantial experience in onshore gas gathering projects

•  Working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements
