Position Synopsis
We are seeking expressions of interest for Civil Engineers. You will be responsible for providing engineering support to the Civil engineering function during all phases of projects in the Iron Ore Projects Team. You will liaise with EPCM engineers and project management, to ensure safe, cost effective designs are produced and to assist in the development of new methods of project delivery. Focal areas include health and safety in design, the use of efficient engineering and work processes within and on behalf of projects, and the application of WAIO standards and strategic supply agreements. As a Civil Engineer you will be accountable for the review and approval of technical documentation and responsible for the development of civil engineering standards to be applied across all projects.
This role will see you taking a lead role in each project phase from studies and design through to construction and operations. A predominantly Perth based role, visits to site will be expected, conducting regular reviews to ensure construction works are running to scope.
Skills and Experience
Candidates will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in large scale engineering projects in an EPCM or client role. With a number of years experience in the mining arena (preferably in the iron ore industry) you will have developed a diversity of skills across roles in design engineering and construction involving major earthworks and concrete works. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working on projects associated with bulk earthworks, non-process infrastructure, hydrology, ore processing, rail and roadwork's design in remote areas will be highly advantageous. This position will allow you to apply and further enhance your technical and management skills over a wide range of challenging projects.
Your ability to engage, influence and direct consultants, driving them to successful project delivery – on time, in budget and with Zero Harm, will be demonstrated through the success of your past project involvement and technical delivery.
You will demonstrate the ability to engender positive working relationships through your high level communication and management capacities, and outcome orientation.
Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering discipline are essential.
