As a Lawyer in our Injury team, you’ll provide advice and support to our national injury liability teams. Our Lawyers prepare matters for and attend PIPA pre-litigation conferences, identify legal trends, and provide strategic business solutions.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Manager, Legal Injury, your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide legal advice to the Suncorp Group, particularly personal injury liability personnel, ensuring protection of the Group's interests and compliance with the Risk Appetite statement
• Advise on and attend PIPA pre-litigation conferences, facilitating effective resolution strategies
• Partner with the business to simplify complex legal issues and provide easily understandable concepts
• Actively promote a ‘one team’ approach across the Legal & Secretariat community, fostering collaboration and cohesion
• Champion the use of the Risk Appetite Statement to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that lead to operational efficiencies and reduction in claims costs, enhancing profitability and financial stability

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Law (Mandatory)
• Current Practising Certificate (or eligibility) (Mandatory)
• Admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in any Australian Court
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience
• Experience in insurance or Personal Injury
• Experience in the financial services industry, ideally insurance
• Experience providing legal advice for a listed company
