The role of Capital Modelling Advisor, Insurance Modelling and Advice, Capital & Investment is to provide support in executing the key responsibilities of the team and supporting broader capital community to drive the capital performance of the Group and achieve an efficient and robust use of the Group’s capital.
What you’ll do
- Supporting the delivery of stress testing and scenario analysis across the Group
- Supporting the delivery of investment strategy analysis and advice
- Supporting the strategic deliverables within Capital and Investment with analysis and advice, including the completion of ad-hoc analysis of capital scenarios and other projects/initiatives to support, develop and deliver upon the capital strategy.
- Contribute to the capital targets and triggers reviews.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Suncorp Group capital management strategy
- Prepare documentation for presentation to the Senior Leadership Team and Board ensuring that it is succinct and appropriate for its audience.
- Providing support on execution of General Insurance related capital management activities
- Development, calibration and documentation of various internal statistical and forecasting models including investment strategy model, Risk-Based Capital model, general insurance stress testing model and Group Consolidation model.
- Contribute to annual reviews of Group and Insurance ICAAP Summary Statement (including the Group’s Capital Recovery Plan) and ICAAP Report and provide overview of Function ICAAPs to ensure consistencies across the Group
- Support the preparation of Appointed Actuary Financial Condition Reports
What you’ll bring
- Degree qualification in accounting, Finance, or Actuarial (mandatory)
- Working towards or a Chartered Accountant or CPA (desired)
- Recently qualified or well progressed towards qualifying as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (or equivalent)
- Relevant post graduate qualifications advantageous
- 3+ years’ experience in capital management or related field within financial services
- Understanding of financial services accounting and capital regulation
- Experience within more than one financial services industry an advantage
- Experience in investment and capital market an advantage
- Experience in stochastic modelling an advantage
