About the role
The Risk Advisor supports operational risk across the ‘Bank Transition’ Business Unit, including the provision of essential IT services to Suncorp Bank, as defined in The Transitional Services Agreements (TSAs). Spanning up to 5 years, these TSAs cover a range of business and IT services, to facilitate the seamless divestment of Suncorp Bank from the Suncorp Group. This includes analysis of operational risk and compliance practices across Bank Transition Business Unit, the review and updating of existing risks and issues, with a focus on identifying areas for improvement in risk and compliance practices.
What you’ll do
- Responsible for risk management and assurance activities across the business unit
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve and simplify risk management practice and accelerate the level of risk maturity across the business
- Provide Risk subject matter expertise to support business stakeholders in fulfilling obligations as set out in the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
- Support the analysis of risk performance and share insights to support the business in improving the identification and management of operational risks
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, laws, and regulatory requirements
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years’ experience in a risk or compliance role (within an APRA regulated environment)
- 2+ years’ experience in assessing risk in business initiatives and activities
- Sound knowledge of risk management methodologies and practices, and their application
- A deep understanding of operational risk management in complex organisations and experience with risk management systems and Microsoft tools
- Basic understanding of Legislative, regulatory and code or practice requirements impacting Suncorp as a Group (e.g., Privacy Act, Trade Practices legislation, ASIC policy / APRA prudential standards, etc.)
