About the role:
The SCC Web App Delivery Specialist (DS) supports the delivery of monthly enhancements and strategic initiatives for the Suncorp Control Centre (SCC) Web App. As a key member of the SCC product delivery team, the DS is accountable for engaging with stakeholders, capturing user needs, documenting clear and actionable requirements, and supporting the development of scalable, customer-focused technology solutions that enable improved disaster response and operational insights.
This role is central to the successful planning and delivery of enhancements aligned to Suncorp’s broader Disaster Management and Control Centre strategy and directly contributes to Clause 7.3 of the Queensland Commitment Charter by supporting the continued development and deployment of the SCC platform within the Disaster Response Centre (DRC).
This includes leveraging technology to monitor severe weather, communicate with impacted communities, and enable improved pre-, during- and post-event response using artificial intelligence and data insights.
This role is essential to support the continued development and delivery of the Suncorp Control Centre (SCC) Web App. It will be accountable for:
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders,
- Capturing user needs and translating them into clear, actionable requirements, and
- Supporting the delivery of scalable, customer-focused technology solutions that enable improved disaster response and operational insights.
More specifically, you will:
- Apply understanding of the Suncorp Control Centre’s purpose, data architecture, and end-user personas to inform business requirement gathering.
- Facilitate discovery workshops and interviews with business stakeholders to identify needs and desired outcomes related to SCC enhancements or new features.
- Translate discovery findings into well-defined business requirements, user stories, feature briefs, and functional documentation.
- Clearly articulate acceptance criteria for all user stories and features to ensure development meets intended business outcomes.
- Document current and future state workflows and identify opportunities for improvement across the SCC interface and insights platform.
- Collaborate with the SCC Web App Lead, developers, SCC Senior Advisors, and vendor partners to ensure solution feasibility and delivery alignment.
- Support delivery of SCC enhancements through sprint planning, backlog grooming, UAT support, and business readiness activities.
- Maintain traceability of requirements from discovery through to development and test.
- Prepare artefacts that contribute to vendor engagement, user acceptance testing (UAT), privacy reviews, and change impact assessments.
- Support structured governance processes for change approvals and risk management linked to SCC development.
- Collaborate with the SCC Senior Advisor and Change & Communications team to support onboarding materials, user guidance, and feature launches.
- Actively participate in relevant agile rituals, including stand-ups, sprint planning, showcases, and retrospectives.
- Escalate risks or blockers impacting delivery and propose mitigations in collaboration with the SCC team and stakeholders.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Technology, or a related discipline (desired)
- IIBA CCBA or Agile BA certification (desired)Qualifications: minimum type and level.
- 3+ years in business analysis roles supporting digital product or web application development
- Experience in complex, cross-functional environments with a mix of internal and vendor stakeholders
- Prior experience in disaster management, insurance, or geospatial technology (preferred)
- Exposure to Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies
- Experience with stakeholder engagement across technical and business domains
Key Capabilities:
- Intermediate level practitioner of Business Analysis.
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team including, but not limited to, having strong collaboration, communication, stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- Good knowledge of industry frameworks and professional standards such as BABOK, Lean Six Sigma, and Agile.
- Ability to develop business documentation and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to be a good listener and effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops (face-to-face and virtually).
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management and assurance concepts.
- Intermediate experience with project management tools and techniques, such as JIRA and confluence.
- Demonstrated flexibility and resilience in responding to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to apply systematic and disciplined approach to planning, organising, decision making and delegation.
- Ability to work in a dynamic project team, contributing to the overall goals of the Group.
