Suncorp Intern Program 2025/2026 

Kickstart your career with Suncorp’s Intern Program for penultimate year students.   This is your chance to work alongside industry experts across multiple dynamic areas, where your ideas matter and your development is our priority.   

Being a Suncorp intern can lead to ongoing employment while you continue to study and a graduate program role on completion of your degree. 

  • Applications Close: Tuesday 26 August 2025 
  • Program Commences: Tuesday 18 November 2025 
  • Program Length: 10 weeks (excludes 22 Dec to 2 Jan) 
  • Program Completion: Friday 6 February 2026 
  • Employment type:  Full-time casual engagement (paid) 
  • Pay Rate: $36.41/hour + casual loading + super 
  • Locations: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne 

About the Program 

We’re offering both technical and non-technical internships in several streams (see below). Each stream is built to give you hands-on experience, access to industry experts, and the chance to work on projects that make a real impact. 

When you apply, choose the stream that best matches your interests and skills. 

  • Data Science (technical) 
    Dive into analytics and predictive modelling, turning data into actionable insights. Support projects that help Suncorp make smarter, data-driven decisions. 
    • Preferred Degrees/Skills: Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields. 
    • Skills we value: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, curiosity about data storytelling, and using insights to drive decisions. 
  • Cyber Security (technical) 
    Step into the frontline of defence, learning to detect and respond to cyber threats to keep our business and customers safe. Gain practical exposure to threat management, intelligence and detection, security assurance, application security, vulnerability management, and identity services. 
    • Preferred Degrees/Skills: Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Computer Science (with cyber units), or related fields. 
    • Skills we value: Passion for cyber security, eagerness to build technical depth, strong problem-solving and communication skills. 
  • Software Engineering (technical) 
    Get hands-on experience in a live tech environment, delivering impactful solutions that support our people and customers. Build your understanding of programming, system operations, and agile methodologies. 
    • Preferred Degrees/Skills: Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or similar. 
    • Skills we value: Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, readiness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Data Engineering (technical) 
    Work on building and managing the data pipelines that power our analytics and reporting. Learn about data governance, metadata management, and operationalising tools like Collibra. 
    • Preferred Degrees/Skills: Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields. 
    • Skills we value: Detail orientation, logical thinking, and an eagerness to learn about data architecture and governance. 
  • IT Infrastructure (technical & non-technical) 
    Work alongside platform engineers and delivery experts on meaningful, end-to-end projects. Gain exposure to cloud services, automation frameworks, and infrastructure governance. 
    • Preferred Degrees/Skills: IT, Engineering, or Business degrees with an interest in technology. 
    • Skills we value: Initiative, curiosity, strong teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn and take ownership of projects. 
  • Business Analysis (non-technical) 
    Support delivery teams in improving frameworks, strategic initiatives, and showcase reporting. Gain exposure to program governance, stakeholder engagement, and agile delivery practices. 
    • Preferred Degrees/Skills: Business, Information Systems, or related disciplines. 
    • Skills we value: Curiosity, adaptability, strong communication, and organisational skills. 

Who Can Apply? 

To be eligible you must have: 

  • Full working rights in Australia 
  • Studying at an Australian university completing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree 
  • Be in your penultimate year of study (or graduating in 2026) 
  • Minimum ‘pass’ grade 
  • Be available to work on-site regularly throughout the internship
