About the role:
The SCC Web App UI/UX Delivery Specialist (DS) supports the delivery of enhancements and strategic initiatives for the Suncorp Control Centre (SCC) Web App.
As a key member of the SCC web app delivery team, the UI/UX Delivery Specialist will help create intuitive, user-friendly digital products by translating requirements into wireframes, mock-ups, and responsive design components.
This role is central to the successful planning and delivery of enhancements aligned to Suncorp’s broader Disaster Management and Control Centre strategy and directly contributes to Clause 7.3 of the Queensland Commitment Charter by supporting the continued development and deployment of the SCC platform within the Disaster Response Centre (DRC).
This includes leveraging technology to monitor severe weather, communicate with impacted communities, and enable improved pre-, during- and post-event response using artificial intelligence and data insights.
More specifically, you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions.
- Design wireframes, user flows, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes using industry-standard tools.
- Build and style reusable UI components using React and associated libraries.
- Ensure consistency and alignment with brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to iterate and improve product experience.
- Translate complex requirements into elegant and functional designs.
- Stay updated on UI/UX trends, design patterns, and new front-end technologies.
- Skilled in crafting seamless digital experiences across web platforms
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Design, Technology, or a related discipline (desired)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, supporting web or mobile application development (desired)
- Proven ability to design wireframes, prototypes, and user flows that translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences (desired)
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and stakeholders, in both internal and vendor-supported environments (desired)
- Prior experience in complex domains such as disaster management, insurance, or geospatial platforms (preferred)
- Exposure to iterative delivery environments (Agile, Lean UX, etc.) (desired)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical domains (desired).
Key Capabilities:
- Design Tools – Expertise in tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision for wireframing and visual design.
- React or Front-End Familiarity – Understanding of component-based frameworks like React; ability to collaborate effectively with developers and speak their language.
- Responsive Design – Designing for multiple screen sizes and devices with fluid layouts and scalable components.
- Interaction Design – Defining animations, micro-interactions, and behaviour to enhance user experience.
- Usability Testing – Conducting and analysing results from user testing to refine and validate designs.
- Demonstrated ability to be a good listener and effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops (face-to-face and virtually).
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management and assurance concepts.
- Intermediate experience with project management tools and techniques, such as JIRA and confluence.
- Demonstrated flexibility and resilience in responding to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to apply systematic and disciplined approach to planning, organising, decision making and delegation.
- Ability to work in a dynamic project team, contributing to the overall goals of the Group.
