We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Team Manager – Motor Assessment to lead our motor assessing function across field, desk-based, fast-track, and automated assessments. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll shape how assessments are delivered—balancing cost, quality, innovation, and exceptional customer experience.

About the Role
You will be responsible for the performance, capability, and engagement of a specialist team of motor assessors and support consultants. You’ll drive continuous improvement, embed automation, and ensure assessments meet safety, quality, and compliance standards—while keeping the customer at the heart of every decision.
You’ll work closely with internal leaders, offshore partners, suppliers, and repairer networks to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality repair outcomes.
About you
You’re an experienced people leader with strong operational and commercial acumen, comfortable leading specialist teams through change. You thrive in complex environments and enjoy working with technology, suppliers, and stakeholders to improve outcomes.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years’ operational management experience leading specialist teams
- Strong people leadership, coaching, and development capability
- Proven experience driving continuous improvement and ideally implementing automation initiatives
- Experience working closely with supplier partners and repairer networks
- Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of customer-centric service delivery
Experience in insurance or financial services (ideally general insurance) and exposure to the NZ or global insurance market will be highly regarded.
