About the Role

This is not your typical claim’s role! As a Commercial Motor Claims Consultant, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of commercial motor claims, guiding our customers through moments that truly matter for their businesses. You’ll deliver our brand promise by managing claims efficiently, accurately, and with empathy - all while balancing strong customer service with smart, solutions-focused decision-making. You’ll work closely with brokers, partners, and suppliers to achieve the best outcomes, ensuring every interaction reflects our Suncorp values. What you’ll do

  • Be the primary point of contact for commercial motor customers, brokers, and partners
  • Lodge and manage a portfolio of commercial motor claims from start to resolution
  • Deliver exceptional, consistent, and professional customer service
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners
  • Apply best-practice claims management to minimise leakage and achieve effective outcomes
  • Set clear expectations with customers and stakeholders throughout the claims journey
  • Identify claims requiring escalation and ensure adherence to processes and authority limits
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance systems and processes
  • Ensure claims costs are managed responsibly through accurate reserving and authorisation
  • Champion risk, governance, and compliance standards in every action

 

What you’ll bring

  • Strong background in customer service - face-to-face or phone-based
  • Ideally 2+ years' experience in insurance or claims, particularly within commercial or motor lines
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills - clear, professional, and customer-focused
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure while maintaining empathy
  • Skilled at navigating multiple systems and claims management tools
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Resilience, professionalism, and a proactive, solutions-driven approach
  • Ability to work flexibly, including rostered hours, weekends, and public holidays
  • A team-focused mindset and willingness to support colleagues
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to engage with customers from all backgrounds
  • A passion for continuous learning and personal development
