About the role
As a Senior Claims Advisor, you will provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a strong commercial focus to achieve business outcomes. You’ll proactively manage a portfolio of complex MAI personal injury claims, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, and procedural guidelines to deliver cost-effective and timely resolutions
Key Responsibilities include:
- Proactively manage a portfolio of complex claims end-to-end, ensuring compliance and timely resolution
- Partner with the Team Leader and Technical Specialist to develop innovative claims management strategies and drive continuous improvement
- Engage with stakeholders (including medical providers, legal representatives, and rehabilitation specialists) to resolve claims promptly and effectively
- Review medical, financial, investigative, and rehabilitation reports to ensure legislative timeframes are met
- Monitor and adjust claim strategies to reduce duration and cost
- Assess quantum and estimates using available evidence and procedural requirements
- Coach and mentor claims advisors to build capability and support sound decision-making
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Business, Commerce, Allied Health or related field – desirable but not essential
- Diploma or Cert IV in Personal Injury Management or equivalent – desirable but not essential
- 2 years experience in insurance or claims management
- Ability to develop solutions and courses of action by using an information base to identify key issues, compare with other data and determine cause-effect relationships
- Demonstrated ability to process tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring all aspects of the role are completed to a high standard
- Ability to identify developmental/training needs of a colleague and to provide practical on the job support on an as needs basis
- Committed to increasing customer experience and delivering high quality solutions within required timeframes
