About the Role
You’ll provide technical leadership for our Data Warehousing & Transformation platforms, guiding architecture decisions and delivery to shorten time‑to‑value. You’ll work closely with teams across Technology & Operations and Data & Analytics to drive secure, sustainable solutions and uplift capability in a supportive, outcome‑focused environment.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the technical conscience for data platforms, ensuring build and run decisions align to the technology roadmap and deliver secure, reliable outcomes.
- Lead and develop a team of platform engineers and product owners, supporting growth, clarity and performance.
- Shape architecture to meet strategic goals and accelerate transformation across enterprise data, AI, analytics, and governance domains.
- Oversee delivery for core data platforms, establishing shared standards, frameworks and guardrails across teams.
- Manage Level 4 support for the data platform ecosystem and maintain strong partnerships with operational teams.
- Oversee portfolio financials and embed FinOps practices to optimise cloud and licence investments.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong background working across data platforms, data warehousing, transformation and modern cloud‑enabled data environments, including Databricks and Amazon Redshift.
- Experience in financial services or the insurance industry (required), with the ability to navigate complex operational and regulatory environments.
- Exposure to architecture and the ability to translate strategic perspectives into clear, tactical execution.
- Practical experience applying data, analytics and AI to real‑world business needs, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Significant people‑leadership experience, with a collaborative style and comfort working in a dynamic, supportive environment.
- Strength in vendor management, financial governance and cross‑functional engagement.
