You will provide high quality legal and strategic advice to support our Workers Compensation claims teams. This role contributes to customer outcomes strengthens decision‑making across the business and supports our commitment to becoming a globally recognised insurance leader, creating exceptional customer value and building futures and protecting what matters.
What You’ll Do
- Provide verbal and written legal advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and compliance matters to support effective claims management and customer outcomes
- Draft submissions and contribute to dispute resolution processes, including matters before WorkCover to support accurate and timely case progression
- Analyse legislative changes and communicate implications to stakeholders to ensure the business adapts effectively and maintains compliance
- Build productive internal and external relationships to strengthen collaboration and deliver consistent, high quality legal support
- Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance team effectiveness and contribute to operational efficiencies
What You’ll Bring
- A current Australian practising certificate and admission as a solicitor or barrister, enabling you to deliver specialised legal support in workers compensation
- Five or more years post‑admission experience, including strong technical capability in workers compensation and the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023
- Experience simplifying complex legal matters into clear, business‑ready advice that supports efficient claim decisions and customer outcomes
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to convey legal issues clearly and influence stakeholders across the business
- Ability to operate autonomously while exercising sound judgement and escalating appropriately within a supportive team environment
