Assistant Underwriter (School Leaver) – WA Underwriting Team
Looking to kick-start your career straight out of school? This is a great opportunity to join our WA Underwriting team as an Assistant Underwriter, where you’ll learn the fundamentals of insurance underwriting while being supported by experienced professionals.
This role is ideal for a school leaver who is curious, detail-oriented and keen to build a long-term career in the insurance industry. No prior underwriting experience is required — we’ll provide the training, support and exposure to help you grow.
What you’ll do
- Support underwriting of new business, renewals and mid-term alterations
- Review, assess and triage submissions in line with underwriting guidelines and delegated authority
- Provide underwriting, processing and administrative support to Underwriters
- Deliver excellent service to brokers and customers, meeting agreed turnaround times
- Assist in achieving portfolio financial targets including GWP and margins
- Collaborate closely with Distribution, Claims, Pricing, Actuarial and Risk teams
- Ensure compliance with governance, risk and audit requirements
