We’re looking for a Senior Financial Performance Analyst to join our Finance team and play a key role in shaping performance reporting, planning and insight delivery across Suncorp New Zealand.
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Financial Performance & Analysis, Capital & Investments, this role partners closely with senior leaders to provide high-quality financial reporting, forward-looking analysis, and leadership of the planning and budgeting process.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the development of executive and Board financial performance reporting, including semi‑annual management and external reporting deliverables.
- Prepare monthly performance reporting and key indicators, ensuring accuracy, insightfulness and alignment with business expectations.
- Provide clear, commercially focused analysis that identifies performance drivers, risks and opportunities to support strategic decision‑making across the organisation.
- Lead and coordinate the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring data integrity, efficient workflow and strong stakeholder engagement across business units.
- Partner with stakeholders across the Suncorp Group to deliver high‑quality analysis, insights, and support for ad‑hoc business queries.
- Drive ongoing process improvements and champion innovation in financial analysis, data tools and reporting capabilities.
What you’ll bring:
- CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- 3+ years’ experience in a large corporate or commercial finance environment (insurance experience preferred)
- Strong experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with PowerQuery and Power BI (or a strong interest in expanding capability).
- Strong understanding of insurance and financial performance drivers.
- Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights clearly and succinctly.
- Experience leading or coordinating planning and budgeting processes.
- A proactive, detail-focused and analytical mindset, with the ability to work confidently under pressure.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
