The purpose of the Actuary/ Senior Pricing Advisor role is to develop and integrate end-to-end pricing capability and insights across Commercial Insurance corporate lines products for our digital transformation project. The products may include Equipment Breakdown, Fleet Motor, Corporate Property, Professional & Financial Lines, Corporate Liability). Specifically for transformation this includes scoping, planning, developing, and supporting the build of the pricing into the new pricing systems and policy administration system, considering testing requirements to ensure sign off.
More generally, this would encompass collaborating with multiple other teams and stakeholders both internal and external to Pricing and Suncorp; timely escalation of issues; removing blockages to performance; simplification of processes.
What you’ll do:
- Develop deep understanding of existing rating algorithms for Commercial products and their current limitations
- Design and specify pricing requirements for new pricing systems including requirements for policy lifecycle, statutory charges and testing of the new system
- Support Pricing planning and recommendations by contributing to pricing plans
- Proactively manage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure correct translation of pricing requirements, timely delivery and risk management is followed, even in a changing environment.
- Actively collaborate with various other Pricing teams to build, enhance, and maintain Pricing data capabilities and data libraries.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the general insurance industry working closely with end-to-end pricing solutions
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Insurance Products and Pricing of key business drivers
- Understanding of actuarial IBNR/IBNER, P&Ls, reinsurance structures, and statutory charges
- Understanding of policy lifecycle and the impact on premium calculations
- Strong time management and planning skills
- Ability to recognise, understand and support the need for change and anticipated impact on both the team and self, adaptable and responsive to a continuously changing environment.
