About The Role
As an Android Developer in our Insurance and Enterprise Technology team, you will analyse, design, build and support mobile features that improve how customers manage insurance. You will collaborate in a Scrum team, contribute to engineering standards, and ship quality releases through strong testing and CI/CD practices.
What You'll Do
- Deliver Android features from design through to release and support, aligning with quality, business and architectural requirements.
- Contribute to Sprint ceremonies and team planning, providing clear estimates and supporting shared delivery goals.
- Review requests and provide constructive feedback that improves maintainability, performance and secure coding practices.
- Build and improve automated tests, partnering with QA to strengthen frameworks and raise confidence in releases.
- Improve CI/CD and build pipelines, supporting continuous delivery and uplifting DevOps maturity across the team.
- Support production resilience, including shared on call responsibilities, and contribute to practical fixes that improve customer outcomes.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years software engineering experience, including Android development with Kotlin.
- Strong capability with Android Studio, complex UI implementation, and Jetpack Compose libraries in production contexts.
- Experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services, using Kotlin Coroutines and structured concurrency patterns.
- Practical knowledge of dependency injection using Dagger or Hilt, and modern Android architecture such as MVVM or MVI.
- CI/CD experience using Android Gradle Plugin and Jenkins, with a focus on automated testing (for example BDD frameworks such as Kotest).
