About the role
As a Technical Lead in the Guidewire Chapter, your role is accountable for code quality, solution output, software, and platform engineering output. As Technical Lead, you will provide systems analysis, design, development, maintenance, and ongoing support for Guidewire applications through guidance and mentoring of junior engineers. This role encompasses systems analysis, design, development, maintenance, and ongoing support for Suncorp's Guidewire software, as well as coaching and mentoring junior Engineers.
What you'll do
- Coach and mentor engineers to improve engineering capabilities and embed best practices
- Highly proficient in delivery of technical projects using Agile
- Prioritise and drive Automation in delivery
- Embed a DevOps/DevSecOps mindset and practices within the team
- Identify opportunities to improve development processes and standards
- Develop a highly collaborative working relationship with delivery teams and stakeholders
What you'll bring
- 8+ years software engineering experience with at 4+ years of technical leadership
- Excellent team leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder communication skills
- Proficiency in Guidewire ClaimCenter, Contact Manager, and Guidewire system/business frameworks
- Proficiency in developing integration solutions including Batch Processes, Message Queues and Event Messaging
- Proven track record of integrating ClaimCenter with external systems
- Strong experience in development frameworks (Java/Spring/Spring Boot), Gosu (for Guidewire), Cloud (AWS/Azure), Databases (SQL/ORM/JDBC), REST APIs and DevOps
- Proven Testing skills including ATDD and BDD
