What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers and brokers across New Zealand, supporting them by phone and email. Your day will include:
- Helping customers with quotes, changes to their policy, renewals, and general enquiries
- Providing timely and professional service to every customer
- Responding to customer and broker questions and following through on solutions
- Building and maintaining strong relationships
- Managing customer complaints in line with the Suncorp NZ framework
While you’ll gain exposure to core insurance knowledge and basic risk assessment, this role focuses on customer service and sales, giving you a solid foundation to grow your career.
Training and flexibility
- Comprehensive training in customer service, sales & underwriting-learning how to assess risk and provide insurance solutions for homes, contents & vehicles
- 4 weeks fully paid in-office training, then flexible working (up to 50% from home)
- 37.5 hours per week across a 6-day window
- Monday–Friday: 8:30am–6:30pm
- Saturday: 9am–5pm (only two teams rostered on Saturdays, so you’ll often enjoy a Mon–Fri schedule)
- Rosters are published one month in advance, so you can plan life outside of work
What you’ll bring
- Customer-facing or contact centre experience
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong attention to detail and digital literacy
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Graduates from any field are encouraged to apply - we’re interested in people with potential and a passion for customer service
- A growth mindset to enhance your skills through our Underwriting Academy
- Previous insurance experience is helpful, but not essential
