Claims Advisor (Personal Injury Claims)

An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated, customer‑centric Claims Advisor to join Suncorp’s Personal Injury Claims team. In this role, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of personal injury claims, driving timely, fair, and cost‑effective outcomes while delivering an exceptional claimant experience. You’ll play a vital role in supporting customers through their recovery journey and ensuring all legislative and procedural requirements are consistently met.

What You’ll Do

As a Claims Advisor, you will:

  • Act as main point of contact for customers, handling inbound calls with empathy and clear communication.
  • Manage a portfolio of complex personal injury claims from lodgement through to final resolution.
  • Apply legislative, regulatory, and procedural requirements to ensure all claims are assessed accurately and efficiently.
  • Engage with injured claimants and stakeholders—including legal representatives, medical professionals, and service providers—to facilitate early and effective claim resolution.
  • Identify rehabilitation needs and coordinate tailored support to promote timely recovery.
  • Review and interpret medical, financial, and investigative reports to guide informed, fair, and defensible decisions.
  • Manage litigated claims, contributing to settlement conferences, mediations, and hearings as required.
  • Develop and refine claim strategies to optimise outcomes relating to cost, duration, and customer wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with internal experts, including Technical Advisors, Injury Management Advisors, and Investigations teams, to strengthen decision‑making and drive best‑practice outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience in claims management, insurance, or a strong background in customer service.
  • Highly developed analytical and decision‑making skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with confidence engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • A strong customer focus and natural ability to build rapport and trust.
  • Proven ability to manage time, prioritise effectively, and perform under pressure to meet targets.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and openness to change.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
