About the Role
As an Audit Manager in Internal Audit, you will deliver independent assurance that supports strong risk management and effective controls across Insurance and other portfolios as required. You will lead audits end to end, partner closely with stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement across the Internal Audit function. Your work will help make Suncorp better by driving insight, efficiency, and sound decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end to end internal audits, reviews, and ad hoc engagements in line with internal audit methodology and professional standards, delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget
- Assess the effectiveness of control environments across Insurance portfolios, identifying risks and practical recommendations that support organisational objectives
- Build trusted relationships with business leaders, Risk teams, and external partners to support effective audit delivery and constructive outcomes
- Prepare clear, concise audit observations and reports, and present findings through entrance and exit meetings
- Support the development of audit team members through on-the-job coaching, feedback, and knowledge sharing
- Contribute to Internal Audit improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and risk coverage
What You’ll Bring
- Experience leading internal or external audits within financial services, with the ability to apply auditing standards and risk management principles in practice
- Strong knowledge of audit planning, testing, reporting, and issue management, with a focus on control effectiveness and risk mitigation
- Ability to communicate audit insights clearly in writing and verbally, tailoring messages for senior leaders and business stakeholders
- Proven capability to build effective working relationships and manage stakeholders across complex environments
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, IT, or a related field, or equivalent skills and experience, with professional certifications considered desirable
