About the Role
As a Systemic Issues Specialist, you will contribute to the identification, investigation, and management of systemic issues and reportable matters across complaints and claims. Working within the Group Customer Advocate team, you will assess complex information, engage with stakeholders, and support regulatory compliance aligned to AFCA Rules and ASIC guidance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the investigation and management of AFCA Systemic Issues and other reportable matters, ensuring accurate, well evidenced, and timely responses
- Analyse potential systemic issues through Suncorp’s programme designed to proactively identify systemic issues, by applying regulatory requirements, industry codes, and internal frameworks
- Monitor compliance with IDR, EDR, and AFCA complaint outcomes, proactively addressing risks and responding to governance queries
- Deliver accurate and timely regulatory reporting to support internal governance and external obligations
- Prepare analysis and insights for SIPS systemic issue forums, supporting clear actions and outcome tracking
- Partner with legal, risk, remediation, and operational teams to support consistent, fair customer outcomes
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience working with complaints, dispute resolution, or compliance within the insurance or financial services industry
- Strong analytical capability, applying regulatory guidance, industry codes, and policy interpretation to complex scenarios
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, used to explain findings clearly to senior leaders and external stakeholders
- Experience managing competing priorities while meeting reporting deadlines and regulatory standards
- High attention to detail in documentation, data handling, and governance processes, including responsible use of AI tools
- Ability to build constructive relationships across multidisciplinary teams to support shared outcomes
