About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Integration Specialist with experience with either Pentaho, Mulesoft or IBM ACE platforms to work with a leading Australian Insurer. The Suncorp tech environment includes some of the world’s best platforms and latest technologies in addition to a significant presence in the cloud across both AWS and Azure.
As an Integration Specialist, you will champion industry best practice, solutions and technologies, and have superior skills in designing complex innovative platforms and solutions. You will drive the technical vision for complex programs of work and platform architecture and are accountable for ensuring Platform roadmaps are in place and on track for delivery.

What you’ll do:
- Set coding standards and encourage the development teams to follow best practices and minimize technical debt, including considerations for OWASP Top 10 and other secure coding principles
- Contribute to architectural and solution design decisions, working closely with architects, analysts, developers, testers, and other stakeholders to propose and implement best practice technical solutions
- Continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipeline; driving automation to reduce cycle time and increase the quality of software delivery across our various tech stacks.
- Actively involved in implementing Proof of Concept (POCs) and trialling new and emerging integration technologies
- Liaise with architects, analysts, and developers to ensure that all deliverables are supported by the correct architectural implementation.
- Contribute and assist the team lead towards development of the backlogs, producing delivery plans as part of backlog of various initiatives.
- Contributes towards development of robust ways of working, including implementation of Agile practices.
- Help create an innovative, creative, and fun team culture, capable of developing advanced technologies.
What you’ll bring:
- At least 10 years appropriate industry experience in large enterprise organisation.
- Experience in working on Integration Platforms like IBM ACE/MQ, Mulesoft, Pentaho
- Excellent knowledge/experience in the application of Agile and Lean approaches.
- Experience with planning, designing, and deploying on-prem and cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) and deployments, migrations, network, and security frameworks.
- Experience defining and managing an integration design practice including integration patterns, register, and system integration landscape diagrams.
- Expertise in deriving solutions that use REST/JSON, SOAP/XML, Java.
- Strong understanding of application and API security and privacy controls
- Strong technical knowledge of ETL Capabilities.
- Experience with Dev Ops and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Team City etc.
- Knowledge of multi-tenancy architectures
- Strong knowledge of system testing, and software quality assurance practices and methodologies as applied to integrated solutions
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to liaise with other teams and drive delivery using hybrid delivery model.
