Technical Advisor – Recoveries and Settlements

About the role

The purpose of this role is to provide technical assistance to the Commercial Motor, Specialist and Direct team by contributing to and driving proactive claims management across recoveries and settlements. This role is also accountable for coaching and mentoring the team members to ensure sound decision making and to assist the development of legislative and regulatory knowledge and skills.

What you'll do

• Subject matter expert for team and the main point of contact for all technical questions related to policy, legislation, product knowledge, systems, processes, and procedures.
• Provide specialist technical advice for authorising and approving complex claims/policies, involving analysis to ensure the correct course of action.
• Actively share knowledge and coach others to build technical capability, fostering a high-performing team environment.
• Engage with external clients/stakeholders on the interpretation of policies and legislation, ensuring proper alignment and compliance.
• Provide side-by-side technical coaching and mentoring to team members to ensure sound decision-making and build technical capabilities.
• Identify opportunities for system and process improvements, working with the leader to enhance compliance, policy adherence, and operational efficiency.

What you'll bring 

• 2 years claims experience or 2 years set/rec experience (Mandatory)
• Clear understanding of Suncorp processes and systems (Mandatory)
• Coaching qualification or equivalent internal training (Desirable)
• Previous experience with Microsoft Office suite (Desirable)
