We are looking for customer obsessed people to join our team as an Insurance Consultant. 

Hours of work are below:

75 hours per fortnight (excluding unpaid meal breaks).
Your normal times and days of work are between 8.45am - 5.15pm Saturday and Sunday, 7.45am – 8:00pm Monday to Friday, with the hours set by fortnightly roster.

Our commitment to developing our people means your customer service and sales career journey will be enhanced during you time at Suncorp.  We will also train you to be an underwriter, so that you can evaluate the risks involved when insuring people’s home, contents, and vehicles.

The first 3- 6 months of your career with us will be based in our office during your training period.  When you're ready, you will transition to flexible working, which includes working from home up to 50% of the time.

Being there for our customers is important.  You’ll be interacting with our customers and brokers via phone and emails, working 37.5 hours over a 6-day week.  Monday to Friday, the first shift starts 8am with the last shift finishing at 6.30pm. On Saturday the shift is 9am to 5pm.  We publish our rosters a month in advance to give you the opportunity to plan your life outside of work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating risks and providing insurance quotes for our new and existing customers
  • Fulfilling customer requests in a timely and efficient way
  • Responding to customer and broker queries
  • Building and maintaining relationships with our customers and brokers
  • Managing customer complaints in line with Suncorp NZ complaints framework to achieve a positive outcome

 

What you need to succeed:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Mandarin/Cantonese language skills advantageous
  • Relationship management skills
  • Resilience to manage complex tasks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and good commercial decision-making ability
  • Computer literacy
  • Flexibility & desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A growth mindset to enhance your technical skills through our Underwriting Academy
